Timber Ridge is the perfect place to be in God’s creation and hear God’s Word. Nestled in the mountains of West Virginia, and bordered by a lazy flowing river, campers are immediately immersed in the wonder of nature while being surrounded by staff who love the Lord and are committed to creating a camp experience that is fun, rewarding, spiritually challenging and life altering.
Our mission is to reach America’s next generation by providing a traditional camp experience in a modern setting with a center of proclaiming God’s wonderful works and His amazing grace so that people may be saved and serve Him.
- Psalm 78:4-7
Who We Are
A ministry of Grace Baptist Church of Woodstock, Virginia, Timber Ridge Bible Camp was founded by Pastor Ken Sparks. Pastor Sparks, or “Chief” credits camp as the base experience that formed his life. Sent to camp by a well-off aunt as a child, Chief spent his summers living the camp life. As an entire summer camper, he mastered every program offered at his camp and learned what a camp should be. It is where he first heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and where he accepted the Lord as his personal Savior, which eventually led to the salvation of his parents and family. Later in his teenage years, camp was the influencer in his decision to surrender to full-time Christian service, which in his adult life has resulted in decades of designing, running, and preaching countless youth and teen camps. Chief brings this experience to the design of Timber Ridge, from the character of the staff, to the program, to the activities, to the food and lodging to the direction back to God and His place in your life. Timber Ridge embodies the best of an old time traditional camp centered around the belief and teaching that God, through the sacrifice of His Son, deserves the preeminence in each person’s life.
